Overview:

This role will be tasked with optimizing continual operations and assuming the forefront position in evaluating, strategizing, coordinating, and executing specified undertakings that bolster service, efficiency, and advancements. Act as the representative for the unit (department) in multifaceted, widely recognized projects involving external business partners. Accountable for optimizing continual operations.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities of Business Analyst:

  • Formulate and generate intricate departmental reports and spreadsheets encompassing, but not restricted to, analyses of project or product strategies, historical reporting, work-flow assessments, and financial scrutiny.
  • Discern patterns, address emerging concerns, and engage pertinent stakeholders to formulate project blueprints, orchestrate virtual and physical gatherings, amalgamate diverse perspectives, and communicate discoveries through mediums such as white papers, reports, and other pertinent formats.
  • Execute sophisticated analyses and decision-making tasks spanning multiple domains to underpin business determinations.
  • Spearhead the development and upkeep of diverse reporting dashboards. Transcend conventional reporting and distribution by adeptly scrutinizing substantial volumes of data and information to furnish insightful perspectives and professionally convey those insights to management and business associates.

Basic Responsivities of Business Analyst

  • Pioneering the constant enhancement of existing processes, devising novel processes, or refining prevailing ones as necessary, encompassing maintenance plans, procedural documentation, and bespoke tools for automation. Identify resources conducive to supporting business operations or refining existing business processes. Present findings and proffer recommendations to management.
  • Take charge in planning and executing new projects, programs, and strategies to attain immediate and enduring business goals, overseeing the design and execution of various projects fostering and sustaining the business.
  • Assume a leading role in backing departmental audits, including user recertification’s and compliance testing.
  • Oversee the planning, testing, and execution of fresh projects, systems, products, and regulatory alterations influencing the unit (dept).
  • Act as the primary figure for departmental system support, coordinating with business partners, vendors, and technology to resolve issues for the unit (dept).

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Abide by pertinent compliance and operational risk controls in alignment with company or regulatory norms and policies.
  • Cultivate an environment conducive to diversity, reflecting the ethos of M&T Bank.
  • Uphold M&T internal control standards, ensuring prompt incorporation of internal and external audit points, alongside any concerns raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Fulfill other associated duties as delegated.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a consultant and mentor to guide junior team members.
  • May furnish guidance and take the lead with less experienced staff.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ pertinent business line involvement, or alternatively, in lieu of a degree, an amalgamated minimum of 8 years of higher education and/or professional background, incorporating a minimum of 4 years’ relevant business line experience.
  • Proficiency in defining and executing a new Target Operating Model (TOM) within a regulated UK financial institution.
  • Proficiency in eliciting and documenting business requirements.
  • Proficiency in meticulously documenting intricate business workflows and process maps (current and future state).
  • Strong attention to detail.
