Criteria for Truck Driver Jobs

Language Proficiency: Candidates must possess a strong command of the English language.
Educational Requirements: Candidates should hold a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or demonstrate equivalent experience.
Experience: Prior experience is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
Transportation/Travel Experience: Candidates should be familiar with international, long-haul, national, and provincial/territorial travel.
Documentation Knowledge: Candidates should have familiarity with a variety of documents, including accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports.
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Proficiency in operating straight trucks (weighing 4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles) is required.
Communication Systems Experience: Candidates should be adept at operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, as well as trip recorders (on-board computers).
Tools/Equipment Ownership: Candidates must possess a cellular phone.
Credentials: A valid AZ class license is necessary.
Security and Safety: Candidates should possess a valid passport and undergo a driver’s validity license check.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must demonstrate a keen attention to detail and possess experience in efficiently managing heavy loads.
Candidates should be capable of handling a substantial workload and be prepared to work overtime as necessary.
Physical fitness is essential to meet the demands of this rigorous position, including efficiently managing repetitive tasks and performing duties that involve prolonged sitting.
Candidates should also have the ability to lift weights of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).

Candidates should be proficient in coordinating travel arrangements, including itineraries and reservations.
Candidates should be adept at loading and unloading goods.
Candidates should be able to procure special permits and other necessary documents for transporting cargo on international routes.
Candidates should possess the ability to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks for the transportation of goods and materials.
Candidates should oversee the vehicle’s condition and conduct inspections of tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
Candidates should be capable of handling payments for goods and receiving payments.
Candidates should be proficient in performing brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
Candidates should conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all vehicle aspects.
Candidates should perform preventive maintenance on vehicles.
Candidates should effectively communicate with central dispatch, relaying information as necessary.
Candidates should accurately record cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Candidates should be skilled in tarping and ensuring cargo safety and security.
